Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Division Research
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is committed to fulfilling Stony Brook’s mission of excellence in research, and to advancing scientific knowledge to improve patient care and population health.
Current research programs in the Division are focused on antibiotic prophylaxis in breast reconstruction, prevention of mastectomy skin flap necrosis, outcomes research in breast reconstruction, and cosmetic botulinum toxin effect duration analysis.
Recent funding in support of the Division’s research has been provided by the Plastic Surgery Foundation, Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Award, Walk for Beauty Foundation Award, and a Department of Surgery Seed Grant Award.
